Nine people lost their lives after a Learjet 60 crashed and burst into flames on a multi-lane highway in Florida on Sunday. The private jet was travelling from Austin, Texas, to the Bahamas when it suddenly nosedived and struck the road, killing everyone on board.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal accident. Investigators are examining whether severe weather, including ice and turbulence, contributed to the crash. The possibility of human error is also part of the probe.
Among those killed were Texas technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson, his wife Helen Sharp, their two young children, and several other passengers. The victims also included pilot Jeff Gregory and 20-year-old co-pilot Nathalia Filgueiras.
As details of the tragedy emerge, families, friends and colleagues have begun remembering those who died. Here is what is known about the nine victims of the Florida Learjet 60 crash.

Adam Robinson, Helen Sharp And Their Two Children
Texas-based technology entrepreneur Adam Robinson was travelling with his wife, Helen Sharp, and their children, Emma, 4, and Charlie, 2, when the aircraft crashed. All four members of the family were killed, according to a joint statement released by relatives of some of the victims.
The family remembered Robinson and Sharp as devoted parents whose children were central to their lives. Their statement offered a glimpse into the couple’s relationship and the affection they shared with those around them.
“Helen and Adam were the love affair that will last forever. Their warmth, generosity and gift for making people feel welcome touched so many lives,” the statement read.
The family also described Emma and Charlie as “the light of their lives”, reflecting the close bond the couple shared with their young children.
Robinson had built a career in the technology and business sectors. According to his LinkedIn profile, he was the founder and chief executive of RB2B and Retention.com. He also served as the CEO of Moltsets.
Before moving into technology entrepreneurship, Robinson worked at major financial institutions, including Lehman Brothers and Barclays.
News of his death prompted tributes from people who had worked with him. Fellow technology entrepreneur Jesse Ouellette wrote about Robinson’s support during the early stages of his own business.
Ouellette remembered him as a friend who understood the challenges involved in building software companies.
“He became a friend and someone I saw eye to eye with on how to build software companies,” Ouellette wrote on LinkedIn.

“He could disagree with you about almost anything, and somehow you’d walk away liking him even more.”
Robinson’s final LinkedIn post, published on Sunday, referred to a debate he had planned to hold with Ouellette the following week.
His wife, Helen Sharp, was an artist, according to media reports. Her father, Dudley Sharp, spoke to The Palm Beach Post after learning that his daughter, son-in-law and grandchildren had been aboard the aircraft.

“We had a daughter, her husband and two grandchildren on the plane,” he said, describing the news as “quite a blow”.
Rachel Reed, Charmi Fehr And Anita Maria Cetina
Rachel Reed, Charmi Fehr and Anita Maria Cetina were among the other passengers killed in the Learjet crash. They were travelling with Robinson, Sharp and their children.
In the joint statement issued by the victims’ families, Reed and Fehr were remembered for their lively personalities and the close relationships they maintained with the people around them.
“They loved their people fiercely, fully and without hesitation. From the moment they met, they were all in on each other and the life they were building,” the statement said.
The precise relationship between Reed and Fehr and the Robinson-Sharp family was not immediately clear.
The statement also paid tribute to Cetina, highlighting the care and affection she showed towards Emma and Charlie. She was described as someone who had become an important part of the family.
“Cared for Emma and Charlie with tenderness and devotion, and she was truly part of the family,” the statement said.
It further recognised the lasting impression she had made on those close to her.
“She showed us a legacy of unconditional love and devotion.”
The tribute offered a picture of the bond Cetina shared with the children and the family, as relatives tried to come to terms with the loss.

Nathalia Filgueiras, 20, was serving as the co-pilot of the Learjet 60, according to US media reports. She was among the youngest victims of the Florida plane crash and had obtained her pilot’s licence at the age of 17.
Her mother, Camila Corteleti, confirmed to US media that her daughter had died in the aircraft fire.
Speaking to The New York Times, Corteleti recalled her daughter’s passion for flying and the sense of freedom she found in the skies.

“She loved the freedom. It was completely different seeing the world from the top.”

Filgueiras was still in her final year of high school when she spoke about earning her pilot’s licence at an unusually young age.
She also discussed how people reacted to her ability to fly aircraft despite being unable to drive a car independently at the time. “I like being different than everyone,” she said. “Some people think that it’s weird that I can fly planes, but I can’t drive a car, I mean I can but, a lot of people think it’s funny.”

Her remarks from the interview have resurfaced following the crash, drawing attention to the young co-pilot’s early interest in aviation and the milestone she achieved while still a teenager.
