Actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu is marking the final stretch of her pregnancy with a reminder that fitness is not always about pushing harder. In a new social media video, the actor revisits her strength-training journey, showing herself performing weighted squats in the first month of pregnancy and again as she enters the ninth.

Samantha captioned the video, “#9. The final lap.”

The clip offers a glimpse of how she has continued to approach fitness during pregnancy, with the actor seen holding a dumbbell close to her chest while performing squats. The comparison between the two stages of her pregnancy has drawn attention to her continued strength training, but her earlier posts also reveal a shift in how she approaches exercise.

Rather than treating every workout as a test of endurance, Samantha has spoken about adapting her routine to how she feels on a given day.

Samantha Ruth Prabhu on changing her fitness routine during pregnancy

This is not the first time Samantha has shared glimpses of her pregnancy workouts. In an earlier post, the Maa Inti Bangaram actor demonstrated strength-training exercises, including a seated cable row and weightlifting.

“Training looks a little different these days. Less about pushing harder. More about listening better,” she wrote.

In another post, Samantha explained that she sometimes limits her effort rather than pushing herself to her maximum. “When you stop at 70% of your max,” she wrote alongside a video of herself lifting weights.

She also offered a candid look at days when exercise feels more challenging, joking that some workouts consist largely of lying on the floor.

The posts reflect a change in emphasis for the actor, who said she had spent years training herself to do more and push boundaries in the gym. During pregnancy, she is learning to respect her body’s signals and rest when needed.

Why Samantha says pregnancy workouts should not be copied

Samantha has clarified that she has been strength training for years and continued during pregnancy after consulting her doctor. She has also stressed that every pregnancy is different and that other women should not treat her workout videos as a template for their own routines.

Her caveat is an important part of the conversation around celebrity fitness content. A workout that suits one person may not be appropriate for another, particularly during pregnancy, when individual health circumstances and medical advice matter.

For Samantha, the message accompanying her latest video is not simply about maintaining strength until the ninth month. Her previous posts suggest that adapting an exercise routine, reducing intensity when necessary and allowing time to rest have become part of her approach.

As she enters what she calls the “final lap”, the actor’s latest update offers a more personal look at a fitness journey shaped not only by consistency, but also by learning when to ease off.
